Extra Innings offers individualized, year round professional baseball and softball instruction. Our staff uses a uniform step-by-step teaching system to encourage positive progress with all our students.

The Extra Innings staff features former and current professional players, college all-stars, and area college and high school coaches.

	Angel L Lugo – Extra Innings Instructor Angel was a star shortstop / Pitcher at Grady High School in Brooklyn NY. In 1988 Angel was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 22nd round of the amateur draft. After spending 2 years in the Twins organization, Angel signed as a free agent with the Florida Marlins before retiring from the Toronto Blue jays in 1993. Angel currently serves as the lead pitching instructor at Extra Innings and is an expert on the fundamentals of throwing & pitching. Angel is available for Hitting, Fielding & Pitching Lessons all year long.
	Victor T Reich - Extra Innings Instructor Victor was a high school standout while attending Lafayette High School in Brooklyn. He Attended the College of Staten Island where he was a division III All- American and MVP of the 1987 CUNY Championships as a freshman. Victor played semi-pro baseball in the past and continues to play for fun. He is also the General Manager, lead hitting / fielding instructor at Extra Inning – Wappinger.
	Mark Ruggeri – Extra Innings Instructor Mark attended Lincoln High School in Westchester New York from 1980-1981. In 1981 Mark was named all -county & all-city infielder of the year. Mark has coached in the past and currently continues to coach a travel team in Newburgh NY. Mark also plays in a highly competitive softball league and plays against some of the best softball players in the country. In addition to the above mentioned, in the late 90’s Mark played in the United States wiffle Ball Championships coming in third overall. Mark serves as a softball / baseball instructor at Extra innings and is available for private lessons.
	Jane Fazi – Extra Innings Instructor Attended the University of New England where she was a 4 year starting 1st baseman and pitcher. During her junior year Jane helped her team win the NAIA district V East Division championship as well as Runner up in the State Finals. Jane currently holds down the assistant coaching job at the School of the Holy Child. Jane is available for softball hitting and fielding lessons.
	Kerry Iacomini – Extra Innings Instructor A star pitcher at Lourdes HS in Poughkeepsie NY where she was All –State honors three years in a row and the winner of the Gatorade will to win contest. A current player at Southern CT State University, Keri was ranked 2nd on the team in wins and was ranked 5th in the league for on base PCT as a freshman. She is currently available for softball Pitching lessons.
	Tony Dinardi – Extra Innings Instructor Tony brings over 30 years of experience as a player and coach. He has been working as a baseball instructor for the past 5 years formerly with Frozen Ropes and the past 2 years here at Extra Innings. He is currently the Modified baseball coach at Poughkeepsie Middle School where he is helping to improve the overall baseball program in Poughkeepsie. He graduated from Lakeland HS in 1974 where he was a captain and leading hitter for the Hornets and was selected to both the All League Team (3 yrs) and All County Team (2 yrs). He went on to have an outstanding college and amateur career and currently plays for the Yorktown Pirates in the Men's Senior Baseball League.
	Samuel Conception – Extra Innings Instructor Sammy a former Physical Training Instructor for the NYPD cadet corp brings his baseball & softball knowledge and experience to Extra Innings. In 1986 Sammy coached the Rudolf Steiner girl’s softball team to a winning record. He also coached in the town of Newburgh little leagues for 9 years. Currently Sammy serves as a player / coach for the Newburgh Yankees Men’s league and is a certified umpire for Orange County NY. Sammy is available for Fielding and Catching Instruction.
	Chris Narewski – Extra Innings Instructor Played 2 years at Mount St Mary's College located in Newburgh NY. After graduating in 2005, Chris took on the Asst Varsity Coach at John Jay HS in East Fishkill NY. Chris is currently available for Pitching, Hitting & Fielding Lessons at Extra Innings.
	Michael R Truncale – Extra Innings Instructor Current Softball head coach at NFA High School in Newburgh NY. Mike Brings 15 years of experience as a Coach to Extra Innings. Mike served as an Assistant Coach at NFA for 7 years before becoming the head coach in 2005. During his tenure,as a Parent Volunteer Coach and Assistant Coach, the Lady Goldback's have won 9 section Nine Championships, and won the Myrtle Beach Grand Strand Softball tournament and section Nine Championship in 2007 with Mike as Head Coach. Mike is a member of the National Fast Pitch coaches association and continues to attend and complete numerous training classes and clinics provided by the NCFA. Coach Mike is currently available for individual or team Softball Training.
	Dan Pirillo – Extra Innings Instructor A star shortstop at Malboro High School In the Hudson Valley Area. Dan was the 2006 Northwoods League Silver glove award winner. He attended LIU from 2004 - 2008 and currently serves as an assistant coach. Dan is available for Infield, outfield and hitting instruction. Call for availability.
	Steve Alhona – Extra Innings Instructor A solid player at Chowan College, Steve helped his team to a winning record during his 4 year college baseball career. Steve brings 5 years of college coaching experience here to Extra Innings. Steve Coached the Newport Gulls in the New England College League, where he raised the teams batting Average to a record .284. After arriving at Georgetown he helped raise the teams batting average 25 points & had a player sign a professional contract, 1st in 5 years. Steve is available for Hitting, Pitching & Fielding lessons.
	Samantha Howe – Extra Innings Instructor A Star Pitcher at John Jay H.S, Samantha was voted Second Team all League / all Sectional Pitcher in her Junior & Senior Years. She also played 6 years with one of the top travel teams in Hudson Valley, The Hudson Valley Express. During her six years on the Express, Sam helped her team win numerous tournaments. Currently Samantha attends Manhattanville College. Last year she was voted 2nd Team All conference Pitcher / Second basemen of the year. Samantha is currently available for Pitching Lessons.
	Chris Val – Extra Innings Instructor Chris played one year at Southeastern University, before injuring his arm and ending his college career. Chris went on to play in such Leagues as AAU, Legion Ball and Housatonic League as a second basemen. He was voted base running Champion of the international AAU Tournament in Winter Haven Fl. Chris is currently available for Pitching and Hitting Lessons.
	Beth Fletcher – Extra Innings Instructor Beth attended Adelphi University and was named 2nd team all conference her senior year. She is currently the assistant varsity coach of NFA (Newburgh Free Academy) in Newburgh NY. Beth also coaches the highly touted Diamond Dolls 16 U travel Team. Beth is available for Catching, Fielding & Lefty Slap Hitting.
	Lauren Cognigni – Extra Innings Instructor Lauren Cognigni joins the Red Foxes for her first season as assistant coach. Cognigni worked primarily with the outfielders and was the first base coach during her season with St. Joseph's. She also worked with the pitchers in the off-season. With the Marist Red Foxes she will continue as the first base coach, as well as assist with all other aspects of the program. During her playing career with the Hawks, she threw the second perfect game in program history as a freshman, and also threw a pair of no hitters during her career. She leaves the program as the all-time leader in strikeouts with 534 for her career. Cognigni is available for pitching Lessons.
	Erik Hartling – Extra Innings Instructor A standout shortstop at Arlington H.S in Dutchess County, Erik helped his team to a winning record throughout his H.S career. After graduating Arlington H.S, Erik attended Dutchess Community College where he was all region, all conference and all tournament 1st team shortstop in 2008. Erik currently coaches a travel team in the Hudson Valley and is available for hitting, fielding and pitching lessons.
	Justin Kern – Extra Innings Instructor An outstanding pitcher at Arlington High School in Dutchess county, Justin was all-section, all league and all county pitcher of the year for 3 straight years. He was also Pre-Season all-American honorable mention his senior year. Justin moved on to attend Iona College, where he was named captain his junior and senior years. Justin is currently the Pitching coach at Ulster Community College and is available for pitching lessons.
