Alex would turn in a whopping .459 on-base percentage in 196 plate appearances for the Dustdevils in 2014 before being drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 31st round of the MLB June Amateur Draft the same year. Alex would play in the Red Sox organization for two seasons, reaching as high as Class A with the Greenville Drive before playing independently, where he played for the Washington WildThings of the Frontier League, as well as the Pittsburg Diamonds of the Pacific Association.
